Memory's "UNCANNY'ed" Thought of The Day: See It Through

Ok, so today I reached a milestone in my life! I finished a 5k race today....and it felt great.

It wasn't so much a milestone because it was my first race, but it was a milestone because I FINISHED it!

I am one of those people who start a lot of things but never finish the project entirely...I know, it's a pretty bad habit. One of the things that I wanted to do this year, was to take on something I never done before, commit to it, and finish it whole heartedly. I chose this 5k to do so.

It has hard. I'm not a runner, so I trained Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays for 3 months or so. Did I want to quit? Of course! As a matter of fact, I actually stopped working out 3 days in a row because 'it was just too hard' but with a little prayer, I got back on it.

Because it was my first race, my goal was to finish under 35mn...I ended up finishing in 31.32mn.

One of the things I found myself quoting is Philippians 4:13 "I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me." My prayer as I got up this morning was to just finish the race, but thank God for my 31.32mn blessing.

All that to say that God will give us the strength to finish our endeavors if we commit the dedication and time to it.

One of my favorite poems:

See It Through

When you're up against a trouble,
Meet it squarely, face to face;
Lift your chin and set your shoulders,
Plant your feet and take a brace.
When it's vain to try to dodge it,
Do the best that you can do;
You may fail, but you may conquer,
See it through!

Black may be the clouds about you
And your future may seem grim,
But don't let your nerve desert you;
Keep yourself in fighting trim.
If the worst is bound to happen,
Spite of all that you can do,
Running from it will not save you,
See it through!

Even hope may seem but futile,
When with troubles you're beset,
But remember you are facing
Just what other men have met.
You may fail, but fall still fighting;
Don't give up, whate'er you do;
Eyes front, head high to the finish.
See it through!
