Of Human Bondage and My Taxi Driver

I take a lot of cabs in the city of Chicago, but tonight's ride was very interesting. My cab driver asked me a question:

"Do you read?"

I was taken aback at first, but I answered the question.

"Yes sir."

"Well," he said, "I get my books from the thrift store for 50 cents and after I read them, I like to give them to my customers, and I just finished an awesome book that I want to share with you." And he hands me the book:
