The BET Awards '08: My Notes

Ok, so yes...I definitely am not a fan of BET, but I am a HUGE fan of Black Hollywood. That being said, I had to break down and watch the BET Awards last night. As I was watching, I took several notes. They are as follows:

• Was Usher Lip Synching?
• I am convinced that Usher's time has passed. Chris Brown could DEFINITELY take him in a 'dance fight'.
• They couldn't find ANYONE other than DL HUGHLEY??? Where's KAT WILLIAMS?????
• Jennifer Hudson looked great! The dress and the hair looked good. Jennifer should have turned more to the camera. Don't they teach you that in acting class??? Actually her hair is the BOMB!
• Chris Brown's hair: WTF?????
• Aren't those Verizon 'DEAD ZONE' commercials the funniest things ever?!?
• Ok, I was SO on Ciroc BEFORE Diddy's endorsement deal!!! I really need to find a new premium vodka ASAP.
• Young Jeezy hasn't had an album since….hell, I can't remember! Why does HE get to perform?!? Bathroom break!!! UPDATE: This song was released June 3, 2008. I guess I wasn't in the loop on that one.
• I'm so mad that Trey Songz knew all the words to Jeezy's song, "I Put on My For My City"…..OMG!!!!! Kanye!!!!!
• Mel B looks AWESOME!!! The dress is great. Keep in mind this bia had a baby!
• Why in the HAYLE did Kobe Bryant get the award for best athlete after the whoopin' he received from my baby Paul Pierce….and don't play me! I have ALWAYS been a Paul Pierce fan…Jayhawks!!
• Neffie and Frankie are hosts?!?!? Speechless….
• Baldwin Hills is coming back!!!! Swwweeeeeeeeett!!!!
• Keyshia Coles' performance…..well, her teeth look great.
• Anthony Hamilton finally had enough sense to cut the pubic hairs off his face.
• Nia's dress is off the chain!!! Morris Chestnut is STILL fine!!! Cuba…was he high???
• Ne-Yo still believes he filming for Stomp the Yard I see. I like the costuming though. Is that the dang JABERWOKEEES?!?! That's who they should have let perform a whole set by themselves!
• LLCOOL J….Sweet Baby Jesus!! Oh yeah, Ashanti was cute…but back to that fineness called LL!!!!
• Is anyone here to accept their dang award?!?!?!
• I'm so ready to see Lil Wayne…
• I see AKeys finally realized that she will not be able to sit behind that dang piano and compete with the phenom also known as Beyonce….Is she singing my song by SWV???!?!? OMG they are coming on the stage?!?!? AAAaAAAAHHHHH!!! I get so weak in the knees….OMG!!!!!!! ENVOGUE!!!!!!! AAAAAHHHHH!!!!! Ok, screw Beyonce….Alicia is bringing all the gals I grew up with…..TLC!!!!! Waterfalls!!! OMG…R.I.P. Left Eye….I am so seriously crying right now. Where's OhSoKrispy? Alicia's performance was OFF.THE.CHAIN!!!
• Niecy Nash is hilarious!! I agree with her! Go and adopt yo'self some white kids Black America!!
• WTF Kanye won best hip hop artist?? I mean, he is good…but can Weezy have his night please?!?!? I C U Weezy!!!! Weezy is so cool dude!! Yeah, I'm scrotum hanging right now! He's trying to get off the drugs for Pete's sake.
• T-Pain's performance: a circus theme is appropriate. T-Pain looks like a Black Willy Wonka. I totally forgot how many smashers T-pain was on. UGH!!! Do you see Rick Ross belly?!?!? 'It's the biggest belly I've seen thus far'. DJ Khalid be so crunk! There go my Big Boi!!! I LOVE Luda's grown man swagger!!! Ok, so I like the performance. No Kanye and 'Good Life'??? That was definitely a smasher.
• Derek Luke is married?!?!
• Marvin Sapp...well, you know I'm not going to say anything bad about his performance…that's my song! And I love the Barak and Michelle pic in the background. Stronger, Wiser, Much Better. YES.WE.CAN.
• Mary, Mary has lost weight…yall better get on the 500 million pound challenge!!
• Chris Brown…is so much better than Usher. At least he's singing. And he's about to sing my song!!!! Take you down!!!! That girl is killing it…wait, That's Ciara! Yes, they're killing it…wait…it's over?!?!
• Dang!! T-Pain was all over the Collabs!! Welcome to the Good Life!! WTF T-Pain?!?!? Will you just walk on the stage like a regular human being??? And what does he have on??!?!?
• Al Green: I love so many of his songs. Jill Scott, Anthony Hamilton, Maxwell…all good performances…Maxwell, where you been?!?! Al Green is _______. You fill in the blank, because you don't want me to do it….trust me! He is definitely a performer. Somebody come get their uncle please!
• Why does Chris Brown always have that little boy with him?? Chris, I know you want to be like Michael Jackson, but please…not the 'little boy' thing!
• Soooo...Chris Brown….you know all of Rhianna's words to her songs?? Yeah, I saw you!
  Debra Lee is dreadfully boring.
• Quincy Jones is STILL looks GOOD!!
• Ashanti just came out and introduced her man, huh?? Ladies, you better back back!
• Dang Nelly! Work out much?
• Ciara's haircut is cute.
• Lauren London's dress….is yellow the new color?? LOVES IT!
• In the words of Diddy: Obama or Die!!!
• In the words of Alicia: the word 'Can't' is dead in our vocabulary!
• Weezy's performance: WHO TOLD T-PAIN HE COULD SING W/O HIS VOICE BOX?!?! A Milli!!! A Milli!!! A Milli!!!! Hip Hop is alive! Don't Worry Weezy Got It!!! Ok, now for real…I wanted more for his performance, buuuutttt….Weezy for VP!!! Not really… I would have LOVED to see JayZ come out and do Mr. Carter with Wayne...but oh well...

• All in all, I must say that the BET awards this year was entertaining. I LOVE Black Hollywood. I love my people…sometimes.
